【摘要】:Thesepracticesandcriteriaweredevelopedforoccupationalexposuresduringconstructionanddemolitionactivities.Theyareintendedto(a)protectagainstclinicallysignificantdiseasefromexposuretorespirablecrystallinesilica,(b)bemeasurablebytechniquesthatarevalid,reproducible,andreadilyavailable,and(c)beattainablewithexistingtechnologyandprotectivepractices.1.1Thispracticedescribesseveralactionstoreducetheriskofharmfuloccupationalexposuresinenvironmentscontainingrespirablecrystallinesilica.Thispracticeisintendedfortheuniqueconditionsduringconstructionanddemolitionactivities.1.2HealthrequirementsrelatingtooccupationalexposuretorespirablecrystallinesilicanotcoveredinthispracticefallunderthejurisdictionofPracticeE1132.1.3Nothinginthispracticeshallbeinterpretedasrequiringanyactionthatviolatesanystatuteorrequirementofanyfederal,state,orotherregulatoryagency.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
